Pawsitive Momentum serves Marina/Cow Hollow & Pacific Heights in San Francisco, California. We love walking dogs on the various nature trails in the Presidio and along the waterfront at Crissy Field. Routinely connecting with dogs and creating everlasting relationships on group walks while instilling basic obedience training and positive reinforcement helps to improve canine behavior. We provide for your dog as if they were our own, and ensure that they receive the highest quality care while under our guidance and supervision.
When you have a demanding job and a busy schedule, it's hard to consistently provide the daily walks, playtime, and attention that your dog requires and deserves. That's where Pawsitive Momentum comes in. You can rely on us to walk and socialize your four-legged friend while you're away at work during the day, or if you're just not finding the time to do it yourself while you're at home tending to other obligations. Not only are we passionate about dogs but we are professional, certified, reliable, and trustworthy. We are fully licensed by the City & County of San Francisco, bonded, and insured. We are compliant and permitted by San Francisco Animal Care & Control (SFACC), Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA), and certified in pet first aid & CPR. We are members of Crissy Field Dog Group, ProDog SF Professional Dog Walkers Association, and Pet Sitters Associates LLC.
Pawsitive Momentum ensures that your dog will receive the best care possible while under our guidance and supervision. They'll return home exercised, relaxed, happy, and content. We truly believe that a routine combination of on-leash daily group walks and off-leash playtime incorporated with consistent basic obedience training and positive reinforcement over time improves a dog's behavior and produces the best outcome. Their happiness and care is our top priority and we strive to provide a service we would want our own dogs to receive.
Rob Lewerenz is a Top Dog SF University certified professional dog walker and is certified by Pet Tech in pet first aid & CPR. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and a Bay Area native. A commercial real estate broker for several years in San Francisco, Rob chose to leave the corporate world behind when he made the decision to pursue his passion for dogs and turn it into a local business. Rob brings a level of customer service and attention to detail to Pawsitive Momentum that he grew accustomed to providing his commercial real estate clientele. An avid outdoor enthusiast with a lifelong admiration for dogs allowed Rob to combine both of these interests and pursue his chosen path to work with dogs in an outdoor urban environment on a daily basis.
Dogs have been a part of Rob's life since early childhood and were always considered a part of the family. At the age of 10, Rob‘s wish was to have a dog of his own. His parents agreed if he would take care of it all by himself and enroll it in obedience school. Rob quickly obliged and his Black Lab 'Jack' finished in first place! From that day forward Rob has always had a dog of his own in his life and can't imagine life without one. Rob resides in the Marina/Cow Hollow neighborhood and has met local residents through their dogs while out walking his own dog, a Chocolate Lab named 'Buddy'. Not only is the neighborhood a great place to live for residents and their dogs alike, but so much of it lies within close proximity to the Presidio and Crissy Field for humans and their dogs to enjoy the outdoors. Rob and his dog certainly know this firsthand, so he used that knowledge to his advantage when making the decision to serve Marina/Cow Hollow & Pacific Heights when he launched his professional dog walking business. Rob educates himself about dog behavior and training on a continual basis. He is currently either certified and/or enrolled in the following courses: Crucial Concepts in Dog Behavior & Training, Simple Solutions for Common Dog Behavior & Training Problems, Dr. Ian Dunbar's SIRIUS Dog Trainer Academy, Science-Based Dog Training (with Feeling), Growl Class- A Workshop Demo for Reactive Dogs, and Dog CPR, First Aid + Safety for pet pros + dedicated owners.
Rob rescued Buddy when Buddy was just two years of age. He was a large, energetic Chocolate Lab, who (all too common these days) grew accustomed to being left home alone all day while his owner's went to work. What spare time they could find revolved around their two young children and they felt that Buddy wasn't getting the attention he required and deserved. They reached out to a local Labrador Retriever Rescue Organization to facilitate the adoption process and Rob was fortunate to adopt him. Through Rob's efforts and hard work with Buddy, he evolved into an obedient, well behaved dog who adapted to an urban environment from a suburban one. It was through daily nature hikes on the trails in the Presidio and along Crissy Field combined with basic obedience training and positive reinforcement that played a crucial role in his overall improved behavior and well being. Rob was also able to take him to work with him on a regular basis which greatly helped with Buddy's socialization. Today Buddy is 11 years old, happy, healthy and thriving. He still enjoys the routine, repetition, and consistency that he grew accustomed to when he was adopted by Rob. A good swim down at Crissy Field Beach and a variety of treats from the dog friendly retailers in the neighborhood every now and then undoubtedly make his day!
